Purpose: Canada's boreal forests and tundra ecosystems are responding to unprecedented climate change with implications for the global carbon (C) cycle and global climate. However, our ability to model the response of Canada's terrestrial ecosystems to climate change is limited and there has been no comprehensive, process-based assessment of Canada's terrestrial C cycle. We tailor the Canadian Land Surface Scheme Including Biogeochemical Cycles (CLASSIC) to Canada and evaluate its C cycling performance against independent reference data.
Abstract: The files provided here include the Canadian Land Surface Scheme's including biogeochemical Cycles (CLASSIC; https://cccma.gitlab.io/classic_pages/) source code for the standard 9-PFT CLASSIC configuration as well as the 14-PFT configuration. Template run parameters, job-options-files, and initialization files are also included. Global CLASSIC outputs fort the manuscript submitted to the Journal of Advances in Modeling Earth Systems (JAMES) for all model configurations are also included. The AMBER package repository version used to evaluate the model results is also included.
