Title: Geochemistry of Nordan's Pond Bog (NDN02/1) peat core from Canada
Citation: Hughes, Paul D M (2021): Geochemistry of Nordan's Pond Bog (NDN02/1) peat core from Canada [dataset]. PANGAEA, https://doi.org/10.1594/PANGAEA.928185
Study Site: Nordan's Pond Bog, Newfoundland
Purpose: Accelerated melting of Greenland ice has raised concern about the future impact of enhanced freshwater discharge on regional climate through its effect on ocean circulation. An abrupt cooling event ca. 8200 cal. yr B.P. has been linked to meltwater from the decaying North American ice sheet.
Abstract: Sediment/rock depth, sample thickness, dry bulk density, carbon of a high-resolution peat core from the Past Global Changes - Carbon in Peat on Earth through Time (PAGES_C-PEAT) Project.
