Title: Geochemistry of La Grande Riviere (LG2) peat core from Canada
Citation: Garneau, Michelle (2021): Geochemistry of La Grande Riviere (LG2) peat core from Canada [dataset]. PANGAEA, https://doi.org/10.1594/PANGAEA.928442
Study Site: La Grande Riviere, Québec
Purpose: Pollen and macrofossil analyses from central peat cores along with 23 radiocarbon dates were used in palaeoecological reconstructions for three peatlands (LG1, LG2 and LG3) within the lower La Grande Rivière watershed in northern boreal Québec. Basal ages from LG3 and LG2 indicate up to an 1100 years later and possibly more abrupt Tyrrell Sea retreat in the LG3 area compared with the timeline for the region.
Abstract: Sediment/rock depth, sample thickness, dry bulk density, loss on ignition, carbon of a high-resolution peat core from the Past Global Changes - Carbon in Peat on Earth through Time (PAGES_C-PEAT) Project.
